music to my ears.

Last night was our long awaited Elton John/Billy Joel Face 2 Face concert.  It's hard to sum up in to words how great it was - I mean, it's Elton John and Billy Joel!! Dueting, they make a great and entertaining team. Playing alone, it sounds just like you have a record on - they don't miss a beat! Elton jams pretty hard and Billy adds in a little humor to get the crowd going. Two artists, both MAJOR contributors to our music world, together on one stage = magic. Thank God I won tickets!!

But now I'm going to have "Uptown Girl" and "Tiny Dancer" in my head for days...

awesome finds.

So, I've been working at Pier 1 (for the second go-round in my life) for about 5 months and look at the amazing stuff we have right now!! There is so much I can't wait to buy for my home!

This is the Alfie chair. It was love at first sight for me. The Alfie is a high quality, well made chair with snazzy style. It has vintage flair with modern durability. My only wish is that it came in brown and teal/blue - not the pink. I can see it now - the Alfie chair angled in the corner of my living or bedroom with a cute ruffle or floral birds pillow.

I also wouldn't mind having this Rajapur Carved Dining cabinet in my collection! The teal color is absolutely beautiful and this would give any of my rooms some nice storage. I would consider using this with baskets, or as a bookcase rather than for dining storage.

And last but not least, I want the Wood Collage Mirror. This is an amazing piece of work. It would look wonderful propped up at the end of a hallway, or hung with a collage of prints or pictures. Anyone want to contribute to my mirror fund?

Pier 1 is full of beautiful pieces right now that are amazing values. Yes, I am plugging my store! Stop by your nearest Pier 1 today or go online!

mmm breakfast

I really enjoy eating, preparing and cooking breakfast. Here are a few recipes I wanted to share with you that I found this week! So far, I've tried the Pancakes but not the Blueberry Bake.

This pancake recipe is the best I have ever tried! Moist, creamy and buttery! This is a recommended recipe for all levels of pancake cooks. What I recommend is shifting all of the dry ingredients twice - this gives for what I think is a fluffier texture. Next time I plan to try these with seasonal fruit and I want to think outside the box. Not just blueberries, but maybe boysenberries or slices of strawberry with powdered sugar or whipped cream. YUM!

This second recipe comes from Simply Recipes - my favorite online recipe source! Everything I have ever tried making from this site is wonderful. This recipe involves some fresh blueberries and my favorite, cream cheese! I plan to try this out when my parents come to visit next month.  The Blueberry Maple Breakfast Bake uses simple ingredients and feeds a lot of folks!

If anyone tries these recipes, let me know! I'd like to hear what you think.
